I first have to apologize that I am so late with my post. My family and I decided to take a last minute trip to Florida this past week to see the BCS Championship game. It was Notre Dame vs. Alabama. My husband Ed is a Notre Dame alum and my son Daniel is a HUGE fan.
My parents spend the winter near Ft. Myers, so it was the perfect opportunity to visit with tham and see the game.
We drove from Pennsylvania on Jan 4th and returned yesterday.
That is my excuse.......
I heard about the Memories and Thanks Blog Hop on the Bead Soup facebook group hosted by Lori Anderson. I knew right away thatI wanted to participate. You can read why she was holding the Blog Hop, here. This Blog Hop honours both Lori's friend, Marianna, and all those people in our lives (alive, or otherwise) who mean a lot to us.
I knew that I was going to make something to honor my sister Katie, who passed away from Hodgkin's disease in 1997. She was only 28 years old. We were 11 months apart and even though our personalities were very different we were close.
She passed away on March and my daughter Shannon was born in June of 1997.
I am taken aback sometimes by how much my daughter reminds me of my sister. I know she is watching over us.
I incorporated a ladybug in my design because she LOVED ladybugs. There are times that a ladybug will show up at family functions and we know this is her way of telling us she is still with us.
Thank you Lori for organizing this hop, it has been nice to stop and think about my sister while I am doing something I enjoy.
