BSBP Bead Hoarders Edition 2017

The day is here & I'm so happy to be participating in the Bead Soup Blog Party!  Lori Anderson of Pretty Things Blog is once again organizing this great event - Thank you for all of your hard work Lori!  This year the theme is the Bead Hoarders Edition.
According to Lori's post on her blog:

I would like to start 2017 by opening our hearts to hope and beauty and true gift-giving. I don't want people to send just anything, but something they love and would imagine brightening the day of someone. The beads do not have to be expensive, but should be exceptional in some way---I want this to feel like a true giving of the heart. Paying love forward to a person you may not even know. Acceptance of what you receive because every single one of you is an artist and could string popcorn and make it wonderful. You're allowed to use your own beads in your design, including your own hoarded beads (because I know you have more than one!)

I was paired with Carla Fry of Carla Fry Creations.  We chatted a few times and I gathered together some beads I have been hoarding (I actually forgot to take a picture of the stash I sent Carla - so please visit her page!)

I received my BSBP package in the mail in February and was very happy when I opened what felt like a present!

What a great soup!
I loved everything Carla sent me and I started to think about what I wanted to create.  Well, my favorite color is purple, soooo I was really drawn to the enameled butterfly.  This beautiful pendant was made by Carla herself!  I wanted to incorporate at least two of the pendants.  I thought the earthy shell pendant was wonderful & decided to turn it around for a different look.

I came up with this design:

I mentioned that I love purple so I had a stash of purple seed beads, faceted Czech glass beads and Chinese knotting cord.
I used all three in the design.

I like to work with leather and Irish Waxed Linen also and decided to use both in the design as well.

I hope Carla likes what I made with her beautiful soup!  I can't wait to see what she made with the stash I sent her and what everyone else made!

Have fun hopping!!
